Terminal

+ Terminal or Alt+T opens a full PTY shell on the machine, running as the agent’s user (root for a service install). A new terminal takes keyboard focus, and so does one you switch to.
Copy and paste
Section titled “Copy and paste”| Action | How |
|---|---|
| Copy | Select text — the selection is copied |
| Paste | Right-click, or Ctrl+V / ⌘V |
The browser allows the clipboard only over HTTPS or on localhost; on a plain-HTTP panel the terminal says so.
Every other key goes to the shell — Ctrl+C, Ctrl+K, Ctrl+W, Tab included. The workspace takes only its Alt shortcuts.
Templates
Section titled “Templates”A template’s Run clears the prompt of the open terminal, types the command and presses Enter; Insert types it without Enter; Run in new terminal opens a fresh tab first. With no terminal open, Run opens one and waits for its prompt. See Templates.
The terminal is resized to its pane whenever the pane changes — a split, the sidebar, fullscreen, a tab switch — and the shell is told the new size, so vim, top and less draw correctly.
Reconnects
Section titled “Reconnects”| What dropped | What happens |
|---|---|
| The browser’s connection | The terminal keeps running on the machine. When the browser reconnects, the tab resumes and replays up to 1 MB of missed output |
| The agent’s tunnel | The shell ends. The workspace keeps the tab’s text and offers Reconnect when the machine is back — see When the machine drops |
Closing a tab whose shell is still running asks first; a shell that has exited closes without asking.
What is recorded
Section titled “What is recorded”Every command typed at the prompt is in History and on the machine’s timeline, with passwords and tokens redacted.
With record_terminals: true in the server config, everything shown in the terminal is recorded as well and can be replayed from the machine’s timeline. Off by default.
